Tide Will Tell

Tide Will Tell

Tide will Tell worked with schools in the north coast area to explore our relationship with the sea through poetry and writing workshops, beach sculpture and model boat-building. The project ended with a community story-telling event and launching of the model boats.

Postcards were designed using some of the beautiful images and poetry that emerged during Tide Will Tell.

Our hope is that a Tide Will Tell type project will work for river areas, forest parks, bog land and the wider countryside, connecting children with nature and their environment. Creating real meaning and connection to the places they live in.

It was the perfect mix of creativity working with nature.

The project activity included:
 Drama and story-telling sessions
 A field trip where children explored a chosen area
or landmark, learn of its environmental significance
and collect relevant material.
 A craft session using their found objects
 A creative writing workshop where they invented
stories and poetry inspired by their relationship with
the area.
 A community story-telling event where
they launched boats/fly kites/suspend sculptures.
