SINBAD SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL

BIG TELLY PRESENTS
SINBAD
A NEW PIECE OF WATER THEATRE

Big Telly is delighted to announce its second swimming pool show Sinbad, which follows the extraordinary success of The Little Mermaid, still selling out after 100 performances in Ireland, Denmark, Taiwan, Serbia and the UK.

Based on The Seven Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor as told in the Arabian Nights, the story begins when Sinbad lands on a lush tropical island which turns out to be an ancient, huge and by now very angry fish, rudely awoken by the lighting of a fire and seeking revenge. Sinbad is miraculously saved from drowning by a passing wooden wash-tub which takes him on adventures where he meets magical sea horses, gigantic 'roc' birds, poisonous sea serpents, one-eyed giants and two foot tall hairy warriors.

Target Market and Key Venues

The premiere of Sinbad will be a flagship event in the 2008 Belfast Children's Festival, where it is likely to attract family audiences of 6,000. The show will then tour to at least two regional venues in Northern Ireland, each attracting further audiences of 2,000. There is already considerable interest in an International tour of Sinbad, following the success of The Little Mermaid, which has already played to audiences worldwide of 30,000. The company also plans an extensive educational and outreach programme with this show, including water workshops, 'action-hero' workshops and a programme with ethnic minority groups focussing on the Arabic Origins of the story.
