Big Telly Theatre Company produced this outstanding double bill from award winning writer, Brian Friel. This modern classic under the joint title of Lovers tells the stories of two couples; teenagers Mag and Joe and the middle-aged Andy and Hanna.

Mag and Joe have everything to live for - a cute flat behind the abbatoir, the looming Leaving Cert, a newborn baby, married bliss... But will earplugs block out the mooing and the shooting? Will it be a boy or a girl? A pass or a fail? Bliss or blunder? So many questions, but the future is full of mystery.......

As Mag and Joe live for the future Andy and Hanna dwell on the past. This pair in their prime court on the couch, rebel against the rosary and hide passion with poetry in an attempt to avoid the watchful eye of St. Philomena.
From the blatant youth and energy of Mag and Joe to the hilarity of the covert courtship between Andy and Hanna, this fascinating study of human relationships has immense appeal for both young and old alike.
