A Wild Theatrical Adventure!
Fun and excitement were the key words for Big Telly's original production of CUCHULAINN. Circus skills, music, songs, comedy, dance and mime were all included in this energetic show which was inspired by the stories of the ancient Ulster hero.
Director & scriptwriter Zoë Seaton, composer & set designer John Leslie and choreographer Jools Beech worked together to create this new and different interpretation of Celtic mythology. They combined a mixture of styles and sounds, ranging from an atmospheric folk feel to ethnic tribal rhythms.
The talented cast of actor/musicians - Fiona Mettam (Maeve/Skatha), Liz Keller (Emer), Vincent Higgins (King Conor), Michael O'Reilly (Cuchulainn), Brian Monahan (Ferdia), and John Bergin (Ailill/Naisi) - conjured up ferocious battle scenes, passionate courtships and a frenzied hurley match as well as the creatures and environment of the pagan world.
CUCHULAINN was an energetic performance fizzing with wit and humour: an unforgettable night of total theatre.
